Bookshelf

I believe that the best teachers stay current with the literature on teaching.  There are many journals and web resources that publish educational news.  I also think great teachers read the classics!  There are many books within the field of education that people regard as indispensable – I’ve listed many books that have been recommended to me by teachers, professors, colleagues, and friends.

I’ve included books that I’ve read or I’m planning to read related to learning and teaching.  An asterisk (*) denotes books that I have not yet read.  Let me know if you have suggestions for further reading!  I’d also love to hear what you think of the books I have included – do you love a certain book or hate another?  Tell me!

Check out: teaching booksphilosophy, psychology, & pedagogy books, and content knowledge books.  I’m also working on a children’s literature list, which I hope to have up soon!

Check out my GoodReads list for thorough descriptions and reviews on each book, as well as links to purchase them.
